About Me
Barbara Eberhart has been an artist all her life.   She graduated from CSU Sacramento with a BFA in Fine Art and has been creating her beautiful work in Hawaii since 1981.  She has won many awards and honors - her work was purchased by the Hawaii State Culture and Arts program for the Art in Public Places program.   Her oil paintings been commissioned for the 1985 Parade of Homes and she has had one-woman shows at the prestigious Ramsay Gallery, Che Pasta Restaurant downtown, and many restaurants and galleries on the windward side.  She has participated in many juried art shows in Hawaii, and currently serves as Vice President on the board for the Association of Hawaii Artists.
She volunteered at the Women's Correctional Facility in 2009 to facilitate the women in numerous artistic projects for which she received a Commendation from Governor Linda Lingle.

Barbara has sold her work through many different art galleries and frequent commissions for oil paintings and portraits.   Currently Barbara's work can be seen at Target store's permanent display of island framed prints on Oahu.   Most recently Windward Unity Spiritual Center created the 'Barbara Eberhart Gallery' at the Atrium building in Kaneohe where over 2 dozen of her paintings brighten their walls, and has been working closely with the Sunday speakers to create paintings that enhance their particular talks.    Barbara was commissioned to create the beautiful Unity logo, which was made into t-shirts and sold as a fundraiser for Unity churches throughout the country.   Barbara has owned her own clothing business where she designed, constructed, and hand-painted original silk clothing.   Her large wall murals can be seen all over the island both indoors and out, for public walls, restaurants, and private homes.

Barbara is prolific in many diverse areas of painting and drawing, constantly experimenting and evolving in her work.   She passes on her love of creativity though her popular 'Art with Hart' classes in her studio where she has taught hundreds of students, children and adults, over the past fifteen years.  Many serious artists in Hawaii owe their start through Barbara's supportive and inspiring classes.  She has gone into the public schools to help with artistic projects and classes for the after-school care.  She taught art in the many private schools on the island as a substitute teacher.   Her 'Holy Art' workshops through Unity are always enormously successful as she stresses that creativity is a 'natural high' and God-given right every human being can enjoy.

Through all the many techniques and styles of painting, Barbara's goal in her work is to bring Joy to the viewer.  She says 'Spirituality manifests itself through Joy.   And Life, like Art, is what you make it'.  She makes it very beautiful.
